Also known as the full path, the absolute path is a path that contains the root directory. The following is an example of an absolute path:

/home/username/public_html/

The username should reflect the account name you were given when you signed up. The "public_html" directory is where all your files should go, they are viewable to all visitors. Anything in the parent directory is hidden and contains log files, email settings, etc.
